TBC Mag Launch and Pop-up Exhibition.

Just over a week ago I was part of the first Edition for The Brisbane Collective "HOME GROWN" magazine launch and pop-up exhibition. It was a great night meeting some other creative people and finding out more about their creative work and pursuits. Details about <TBC>

Pictured is some visual arts from the night alongside my piece - "Flight Control". Kodak Tri-x 400 black n white film, digital composite, stone print with recycled wood frame by the wonderful folks at OnStone in Melbourne. A soft stone face with recycled wooden frame, perfect piece to compliment a modern interior. Mixed similar/ recycled materials, a personal favourite of mine in design style.

Chapter 2. Feb.

Well as Jan comes to an end and turn the page that is Feb, I am excited about 2015. Lots of planning, thinking, researching. I have so much to share, but must wait. This year is about new experiences. Tonight will be one of those 'new(ish) experiences'. My first printed article in a magazine - Launch "The Brisbane Collective - HOME GROWN" and another exhibition. My article including 4x portraits of wonderful people who I have met and their favourite hang place. More on that here. 

Then in about 6 months I'm off o'seas to visit 13 countries (wowzers). This time will be full of new experiences in a whole lot of new places. Sure I've 'seen' them on TV, etc, but to be there in person, feeling, smelling it. Taking it all in and capturing many memorable moments. Sharing it with a group of strangers (hopefully some to become friends). I don't speak any other languages except for a bit of German. Learning it in my youth, I've still maintained a strong interest in the language, culture and history of Germany. Aus liebe zum Deutschland! 

This is just the beginning of something new for me. Stay tuned and I look forward to sharing with you again soon.

Print & Exhibition.

I would like to announce that a few days ago (20th Jan 2015), my work was featured in The Brisbane Collective, edition 4. Hoorah! A locally owned and printed mag celebrating and promoting local creativity in and around Brisbane.

Established in 2014, a number of articles showcasing their work. With occasional pop-up exhibitions (more on that soon...)

My feature includes 4x locals and their favourite hangouts. Bonsai Botanika (Brisbane CBD), Fonzie Abbott (Ascot), The End (West End) and Bosc (also in West End). Great places to grab, something to eat and relax. Brisbane's food and drink scene has been on the increase lately, offering many cultural delights.

All images shot on colour film (Kodak Ultramax 400), with my Canon A1. The use of natural or available creating some wonderful portraits.
